Hello!

My name is Amihai Michael Fishman, and I am a pen maker and poet based in Israel.

I began making pens out of an interest in woodworking, writing instruments and the process of turning raw material into a finished instrument. Over time, this developed into a small workshop focused on individually made fountain pens and other writing implements.

I’m drawn to pens because they combine practical design and use with personal character. A pen is an everyday tool, but it can also become something closely connected to its owner: an object used for writing, work, study, letters to a loved one or creative thoughts.

My work is guided by a simple principle: each pen should feel considered rather than mass-produced. I pay attention to the shape, balance, materials and finish, while allowing the natural qualities of the material to remain visible. I work with wood as the main material and ebonite as the pen section and sleeves.

My background as a poet also influences the way I think about the writing implements I make: Writing is not only the subject of my work; it is part of the reason I’ve begun and always returned to pen making. I want to create writing instruments that are useful, durable and enjoyable to hold, but that also carry a sense of the person and workshop behind them.
